Zimbabwe

We feature Leon "Spyker" Joubert in this African country. Bordered by Mozambique to the east, Zambia to the north and west, and South Africa in the south this country roughly the size of the State of Montana. Hunting lands in Zimbabwe are divided into State Safari Land, Communal Land, and Private Land.

Our hunting takes place solely on State Safari Lands. These are owned by the government and due to the poor agricultural compnents of the land have become superb big game areas. Specifically we offer hunting in the Matetsi Safari Area which is bordered by Hwange, Victoria Falls and Kazuma National Parks. This area is exceptional for buffalo, elephant sable and waterbuck. Leopard and lion hunting is well above average, too. Various other plains game species are also found here in good numbers.

Expect a savanna landscape with a wonderful mix of mopane forests The land comprises of gently rolling hills and is not subject to the dramatic droughts common in the more eastern regions of the country. Numerous rivers flow through the concession ensuring the game has the water necessary to thrive.

Hunts here come in 7-day, 10-day, 14-day and 17-day safaris. Seven-day hunts allow you to take buffalo and some plains game. Ten-day hunts add sable to the mix. Fourteen-day hunts add leopard to the bag. The 17-day hunt adds elephant to the mix. The hunting season is generally June through December.

Day trips to Victoria Falls can easily be arranged during a safari to this area as the great falls are only 2 hours away.
